phantomchick:

He was only 4 foot 6 and 87 pounds at age 15 when he died.

For reference:
As the average weight of an fifteen year old male is 128 pounds this puts him just below the third percentile (very underweight) – the average height for a male kid that age is 67 inches or 5 feet 7 inches tall. Obviously Jay wasn’t close to either of these averages.

So … he was tiny. He was a very smol bird.
Still recovering from the effects of malnutrition.

oh hey

hey guys

He’s. So. Small.

It’s why they called him “Little wing”.

bc it was affecting someone else and i just want to say it:

if you want a fic, and your author hasnt been writing it, and you’re curious what the deal is?

ask. nicely.

do not demand. do not say shit like “oh i like this fic you have to update it because i like it, i’m desperate for more and you have to do it for me.” say please. say excuse me. don’t just slide in and go “write more.” NEVER just slide in and go “write more” jfc. its like some people don’t understand that writers are people too.

you’re best off just saying “oh i love this verse” or “i thought this idea was fantastic and i loved it”. demanding things from people never makes them more likely to do it. if someone starts demanding shit from me, i stop doing it entirely because it stops being fun. your best bet is to just show that you like something someone does. interest and validation is so much better than demands for more, seriously.

if you absolutely must ask for more: say please. say “i really enjoyed this, when you get the chance i’d love it if you’d work on it a bit more” or something. make sure you mind your damn manners, writing is hard and unpleasant and sometimes incredibly un rewarding don’t just come in with your “goddamnit its been three months, where’s my next chapter of your fic” what the fuck is wrong with you why would you ever think that’s acceptable

writers are people too. fans are still people. fandom is not the most important thing in anyone’s life.

just be fucking nice to writers god damn it. i’m sick to hell of seeing my favorite writers get frustrated over and over responding to anons telling them ‘write more’ or ‘i want more of this universe you specifically said was over or you dont like playing in any more’ absolute FUCKING hell just BE FUCKING NICE

Actual review I have received while going through a difficult time in my life:

You bitch! How could you stop on that cliffie and not touch the story for two years! Boo you whore!

…Yep.

I deliberately avoided working on that fic for a further two years purely because of that.

date-a-jew-suggestions:

Best moments of my very very Jewish family vacation

– my 8 year old cousin running around flapping her arms like a duck screaming “farQUACKte”

– me sitting down with my grandma and showing her my art for my comic and her telling me how much she loved my use of Jewish characters and culture

– my cousin warning me there was a wasp (as in the bug) in the house so I pointed at my dad, the only WASP on the trip, and asked “is it over there”

– my grandpa: so do you consider yourself religious

me: yes

grandpa, who promised our rabbis that he’d show up to at least five services a year just bc he wanted to prove he can do it, and holds up fingers for however many he’s been to so far whenever he sees the rabbis: I don’t see you going to as many services as I do

– my sister just got her learners permit and whenever she drives with our grandparents in the car they call her a meshugenah at least once

– my grandpa laughing after I told him the Extremely White Goy name of the boy in my history class who wouldn’t stop calling my Magen David a “jew star”

– “should I buy this hat” “no it looks like a fucking hamentashen”

– I love being a Jew with a big Jewish family
