I know as a kid I fucking loved Sora and hated Riku’s parachute pants wearing ass, but I had no idea why for the longest time because I haven’t been able to replay KH1 since the days of the PS2. I couldn’t even really remember if there even was a specific, valid reason why I didn’t like him. Fast forward from 2002 to 2017, with the 1.5+2.5 game release and I finally got to replay it…within like two minutes of listening to Riku talk I was like “No, yeah, right. Total dickhole. Now I get it.”

And then now he’s our angsty angel sweet boy who just wants reparation and a blanket and some hugs? That’s how you do character development. 

100 years between KHUx and BBS. 10 Years between BBS and KH 1.  1 Year between ReCoM and KH2. 1 year between KH2 and KH 3D.

Light, darkness, mush and angst.

Long ago, all four tropes lives in harmony until some Hot Topic employees in black coats attacked.

Only Jesse McCartney, master of all four tropes could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he fell asleep.

A hundred years passed and his angst was ripped out. Four years past and then he fell asleep once more.

Ten years past and his clone born from another bro raged. But his summer vacation waned.

Another year has gone and our boi is still alone. Although he sleeps constantly, I believe he can save the world.

Unless he ignores his alarm and dooms the world.
