  1. Soup.io – well-known alternative to Tumblr. Reblogging, post types, themes, collab blogs, dashboard, artsy, great community already there. Soup can auto-import everything you’ve posted on Tumblr.
  2. TypePad – Includes reblogging. Dashboard and post types similar to Tumblr.
  3. Jux – Artful posts, beautiful blogging experience

Reblogging cause one day it just may be neccessary.

It became necessary

WordPress will also import Tumblr blogs.

Alright so, apparently Tumblr is going to pretty much stop any new nsf w content from being posted after Dec 17. From how I understood it, it’s going to set already posted nsf w content to private, so I assume most of my content on this blog is not going to be visible anymore.

My blog SHOULD still be around though, just with the old explicit filter so nobody under 18 can look through it etc, which is already in effect I think.

If I move to somewhere else, I will inform you here, I’ll keep you updated!

For now though, if there’s content on this blog that you like, please feel free to download it, save it away, so you don’t lose it, because it’s probably going to be gone in some way, shape or form soon.

And make sure you read the update if you have a nsf w blog yourself so you have an idea of what might happen, I’ll link you to it in a reblog since posts are so fucky atm that I’m worried this post will fucking burst into fire if I put a link into it.

Either way, I love you all, it’s been fun, maybe we can continue this journey somewhere else! ❤

This is the link to the update, please read it carefully

nothing is working in this damn house, here’s the link to staff’s post instead that they just made

Tumblr account terminated

So this happened to me a few days ago, and I thought maybe sharing my experience could help someone if this happens to them in the future.

I was checking my Tumblr when suddenly I was logged out from it and given the usual Log In page. When I entered the details to access my blog, this appeared:

My heart skipped a bit. I tried to re-enter the details (maybe I got them wrong the first time), but no, the same message about Termination was shown. I typed my blog URL and got the

ominous

:

Same thing with my sideblogs.

So obviously I was very worried. I contacted the Tumblr support but didn’t get an answer for 48 hours, only an automated reply. I already started mentally saying goodbye to my blogs, my posts and all my followers, when finally I recieved their answer:

(In case you can’t see the picture, it says:

Hello,
We’ve restored your account.
Thank you for bringing this problem to our attention. We’re sorry that it occurred, and we’ll do our best to make sure that it doesn’t happen again.
You should now be able to log in just fine with your email address and password.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with.

My blog was restored and working normally. All my sideblogs were intact , and so were my posts and my followers. The only thing that was lost, is all the conversations by Messages. The people with whom you talked are still there, but all the history of the conversation is gone.

Alright so here is what you should do if this happens to you. Don’t panick like I did Click on the “contact support” link provided in the terminated window. Alternatively, go on Tumblr.com/support

Politely explain your situation – give your blog URL, your mail, tell what happened exactly. I understand that the situation can be upsetting, but the person who will read the message and try to help you isn’t directly responsible for the termination of your blog. And sending an angry message with insults isn’t the best way to get your blog back either.

Wait for the reply of the team. If you feel like it takes too much time (more than few days for example), try to fill the Help/Support form again.

Once the team is in contact with you, keep the polite tone. Normally if your blog didn’t go againt the Tumblr rules and policies, you should getit back like I did.

Voila 🙂

@monstersandmaw heres something that may help if they come for you

Thank you!! Reblogging for others’ reference. (I saved the info elsewhere)

Hey that post about Tumblr hiding links from the search appears to be false. It’s a bug happening with a few people and the staff already know about it and are working to fix it. The OP just never really asked to confirm and started spreading misinformation. But I thought it would ease your mind a bit to know the truth!

destiny-islanders:

Hmm. Well, I’m one of those few people. I tried searching for some of my posts and couldn’t find them. :/

If this is a bug, I hope they fix it soon! It’s a really serious problem.

TUMBLR JUST KILLED LINKS

Yes, you read it right.

As of today, November 17, 2018, any post with links, any links, even to other tumblr posts, just don’t show up anymore in tumblr’s search engine.

I just found out about it, after I posted a fic with a link to my masterlist and it got little to no notes (it shuldn’t). I was right – the moment I deleted the links, my post magically appeared in the search again. Wow.

Please spread the word to warn the others.

This affects artists who want to cross promote their work, writers who want to link to previous chapters or to a masterlist, and editors who want to link to their YouTube channels, among just a few. This new policy will kill content creators’ ability to spread their work, and for what? A poor attempt to use the algorithm to crack down on porn bots and scammers? Sad.

In the meantime, here’s what I suggest: post your work with no added links, and tell people to check the notes for your masterlist, story navigation, links to ko-fi, patreon, and other social media sites. Make sure you have all those things ready, then paste it into a reblog and have people access them that way. It’s stupid, but it’s a work around we’ll have to use until tumblr gets their act together.

Reblogging again because I need advice on creating masterpost links.

Welp, I’m boned

ime people, myself included, cannot be arsed to go through notes on a post anyway. -_-

I was so sad I reblogged to the wrong blog

No freaking wonder the pieces with links to my patreon have been struggling more than normal!!
