I know as a kid I fucking loved Sora and hated Riku’s parachute pants wearing ass, but I had no idea why for the longest time because I haven’t been able to replay KH1 since the days of the PS2. I couldn’t even really remember if there even was a specific, valid reason why I didn’t like him. Fast forward from 2002 to 2017, with the 1.5+2.5 game release and I finally got to replay it…within like two minutes of listening to Riku talk I was like “No, yeah, right. Total dickhole. Now I get it.”
And then now he’s our angsty angel sweet boy who just wants reparation and a blanket and some hugs? That’s how you do character development.
